Howrah: The police has achieved a breakthrough in a case where two young boys from West Bengal Kolkata. The police arrested the main accused in the matter form Howrah district.

According to the news agency PTI, a special team nabbed Satyendra Choudhury, the prime accused, from Howrah railway station as he was trying to escape the city.

Earlier, the police had arrested four alleged accomplices of the main accused while investigating the matter.

On September 6, the body of twin boys, who were 17-years-old, were found at a morgue in Basirhat. The two went missing a fortnight earlier.

The police revealed the two were strangled to death. The bodies were spotted by the local police in the Malancha area of North 24 Parganas district. Following which, they took them to the morgue.

Meanwhile, the state government on Wednesday suspended the inspector in charge and another officer of the Baguiati Police Station. The missing complaint of the boy was lodged here.

An official said the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken over the case.

The accuse took the boys from Baguiati promising them to help buying a second-hand bike on August 22. Two days later, the accused asked for a ransom of Rs 1 crore.

He made the ransom demand after killing the two boys in a car, said the police.
