Bengaluru: Karnataka school education and literacy minister B C Nagesh said the state government will dig into the matter related to the type of education being given to students in madarsas.

“It is my duty to review every part of education registered under the Education Act,” said the minister.

Minister Nagesh further said the government has received complaints that the madarsas are not providing proper education to children. Owing to which, an investigation would be carried out.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with education officials, the minister said the madrasas’ authorities has not been cooperating with the team sent by the government. He further said such behaviour puts question mark over the quality of education.

However, he has sought a report within 15 days regarding the status of the education of students. The report will also include the details regarding student’s development and implementation of the Right to Education Act in government-aided, unaided and private madrasas in Karnataka.

Nagesh said parents want that students should be taught mathematics and science. He said students should go to the school afterwards to get formal education.
