Hyderabad: A shocking incident has come to light from Hyderabad in Telangana, where an 86-year-old businessman was stabbed to death by his grandson. The incident took place on Thursday night in Panjagutta area, said the police. The accused identified as 28-year-old Keerthi Teja stabbed his grandfather VC Janardhan Rao, following a heated argument over property. He also stabbed his mother when she tried to intervene. His mother has sustained injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Thursday midnight. The deceased, 86-year-old businessman VC Janardhan Rao, was stabbed multiple times with a knife by his grandson, Keerthi Teja, aged 28, following an argument over property. Police informed that the accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
“The accused also stabbed his mother when she tried to intervene and stop him, resulting in her sustaining injuries; she is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. We have arrested the accused, Keerthi Teja, and he has been remanded,” added the police.
In another incident reported from Hyderabad, a techie reportedly died by suicide at his home in Suraram Colony in Hyderabad’s Jeedimetla. According to reports, the 32-year-old software engineer died by hanging himself from a ceiling fan on Saturday. The deceased techie, originally from Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district, committed suicide in the absence of his family members. He was living with his wife and two children in a rented apartment in Suraram Colony. Additionally, Police recovered a suicide note from his house which was later sent for forensic examination. It was purportedly written by the techie himself. Police suspected that he took the extreme step due to financial issues.
