New Delhi: Following a Delhi court’s order on the alleged excise policy case, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded an unreserved apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their malicious conspiracy against AAP. AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said that a huge conspiracy has been hatched to defame CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal at the behest of PM Modi.
Sanjay Singh highlighted how ED could not present a single piece of evidence against Gautam Malhotra and Rajesh Joshi in the court. Notably, the BJP had alleged that the AAP has spent 30 crores in Goa elections through Rajesh Joshi, however, the ED submitted that only 19 lacs were spent by the party in cash during the elections.
On Monday, AAP senior leader and Rajya Sabha member, Shri Sanjay Singh, said, “The recent court order in the fake excise policy case undeniably reveals that there was no such thing as a liquor scam, to begin with. It has laid bare the deep-rooted malicious conspiracy hatched by the BJP, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), solely to tarnish the image of our esteemed leader, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, and the Aam Aadmi Party. However, the truth has prevailed that there is no evidence to support their claims, and it is time for the BJP and PM Modi to be held accountable for their actions.”
He asserted that in light of these revelations, the BJP and PM Shri Narendra Modi should offer an unconditional apology to the entire nation, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, and the Aam Aadmi Party. “If they possess even an ounce of shame, they must acknowledge their wrongdoing and take strict action against those responsible for fabricating this false and baseless scam,” he added.
This press conference comes after the order passed by a Delhi court on May 6th, through which Rajesh Joshi and Gautam Malhotra, who were at the centre of the allegations made by the ED and the CBI regarding kickbacks amounting to INR 100 crore in the Goa elections, have been granted bail in the absence of any evidence to substantiate the wild claims of the central investigative agencies.
Sanjay Singh noted that the BJP has long been known for making baseless allegations out of thin air and conducting so-called investigations. He highlighted that when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) initiated their investigation, the agencies had initially claimed that an amount of Rs. 100 crore was involved. However, later it was revealed that they had no evidence or information regarding 70 crores. Still, the BJP continued spreading its false propaganda relentlessly.
The agencies included false information in their charge sheet, stating that a vendor named Rajesh Joshi received 30 crores from a liquor business in southern India and that this amount was spent during the Goa elections through Rajesh Joshi as a medium.
“The court even questioned the basis for the allegation of 30 crores, to which the agencies had no answer. The recent court order shows that no embezzlement of funds has taken place in the alleged excise case,” he said.
The Rajya Sabha MP explained, “The so-called liquor scam case lacks any factual or evidentiary basis. The court granted bail to Rajesh Joshi and Gautam Malhotra, stating that the ED has not presented any facts or evidence of any kind in the liquor scam. The court questioned the grounds for the arrest if there was no evidence. Consequently, the court granted bail to Rajesh Joshi and Gautam Malhotra, stating that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) lacks any witnesses, facts, or evidence related to the liquor scam.”
He highlighted that for the past six months, the ED and CBI have been fixated on this case in Goa, with instructions from PM Shri Narendra Modi himself. He said that the personnel of these agencies have dedicated their time, day and night, to interrogating, intimidating, physically abusing, arresting, and sending anyone to jail in the case. Yet, they found no evidence of any kind to prove the alleged liquor scam.
He added, “Their own investigation confirmed that the Aam Aadmi Party, known for its honesty, spent a mere 19 lakh in cash during an assembly election. This information is stated by the central investigative agencies themselves. The ED-CBI’s investigation has proven that AAP is India’s most honest party. We remain committed to our party’s core principles of transparency, accountability, and the welfare of the common people.”
Shri Sanjay Singh noted that the sinister face of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the truth of their deep conspiracy have been unequivocally exposed after the order of the honourable court on May 6.
“This revelation has showcased to the entire nation that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is a leader committed to truth and that the Aam Aadmi Party stands as a bastion of integrity. AAP stands for honesty, transparency, and accountability in politics. On the contrary, the BJP, under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, has resorted to false accusations and defamation campaigns against anyone who stands in their way. From the very beginning, we have maintained that the liquor scam allegations were a pack of baseless lies and lacked any factual or evidentiary support. However, there was a relentless push by the PMO, the Prime Minister, and the Bharatiya Janata Party to exert pressure on the ED and the CBI to attach evidence to their false claims. Their desperate attempts involve coercion, physical abuse, threats, harassment against innocent families, and the forceful extraction of false statements from individuals. However, the truth cannot be hidden, as lies crumble before it,” he said.
He stressed how the ED even resorted to assaulting a witness named Chandan Reddy to further their agenda and coerced him into providing a false statement. Chandan Reddy later filed a case in the High Court with his medical report, alleging that the ED officers beat him up so much that both his eardrums burst and threatened to harm his family. Other witnesses, like Sameer Mahandru and Arun Pillai, also bravely testified in court that the ED had forcibly extracted fabricated statements from them. All these actions were taken to tarnish the image of the AAP and its leaders.
Furthermore, Shri Sanjay Singh shed light on the BJP’s deceitful tactics, recounting how they concocted baseless stories to discredit the Aam Aadmi Party.
He expressed, “The BJP resorted to hurling abuses and engaging in theatrical displays of maniacal rage as if they would emerge from our television screens and tear us apart. They shamelessly propagated the lie that Shri Manish Sisodia, a valued member of our party, had destroyed 14 mobile phones. To counter these false allegations, I presented evidence detailing the status of each of the 14 phones in question. Astonishingly, the IMEI numbers of the allegedly destroyed phones remained active. In fact, four of them are currently held by the ED itself, one is with the CBI, and the remaining are in the possession of Shri Manish Sisodia’s household staff.”
Shri Sanjay Singh, emphasising the egregiousness of the situation, went on to address his own involvement in the case.
He revealed, “They audaciously claimed that I was named in the ED’s charge sheet on January 6 this year. Subsequently, I sent defamation notices to the ED, demanding a thorough investigation into the matter to uncover the truth. The probe agency, in its response, admitted to mistakenly naming Sanjay Singh instead of Rahul Singh, attributing it to an “inadvertent error.”
“It is utterly dishonest to claim such glaring mistakes. Can they also “by mistake” name Narendra Modi instead of Lalit Modi or Nirav Modi in their investigation? We are well aware that these investigation agencies are under undue influence from PM Shri Narendra Modi, the BJP, and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). But to stoop so low as to defame an individual with ridiculous false accusations, is this really their moral fabric?” exclaimed Shri Sanjay Singh, displaying his firm stance against the BJP’s malicious actions.
In his address, Shri Sanjay Singh vehemently stated, “Without any logic, without any evidence or basis, they created a ruckus about the liquor scam. Allegations were thrown around recklessly, claiming that Rs 30 crore was given to Rajesh Joshi, which was allegedly utilised during the Goa elections. Shockingly, no witness could substantiate this claim in court. Furthermore, not a single witness could validate the allegations levelled against Gautam Malhotra. This clearly indicates that the BJP’s entire modus operandi is based on unfounded accusations and a strategy of intimidation, harassment, assault, and character assassination.”
Sanjay Singh said, “The BJP and PM Modi have been living lives devoid of integrity and character. It is said that everything appears yellow to the jaundiced eye. The BJP, whose members spend sleepless nights devising fraudulent schemes, saw it fit to falsely accuse us of a liquor scam, aiming to tarnish the reputation of Shri Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party. However, the truth, witnesses, and evidence have now emerged, vindicating our stand.”
He further explained that the BJP, a party with a notorious track record, is responsible for a multitude of scams and malpractices. From the defence deal scandals to the shameful exploitation of martyr caskets, from the Vyapam scam to the corrupt mining activities of Reddy Brothers and BS Yeddyurappa, the BJP has consistently proven itself to be a party marred by corruption.
He went on to say, “Ask any child on the streets or in the villages of Karnataka, and they will tell you that the Bharatiya Janata Party is synonymous with a 40 per cent commission/bribe. Furthermore, they shamelessly orchestrate scams worth lakhs or crores of rupees, with their allegiance resting with Adani.”
In light of these grave transgressions, the Aam Aadmi Party demands an unreserved apology from the entire Bharatiya Janata Party, addressing the people of this great nation, and especially every dedicated worker of our party. Those who propagated false allegations and sought to defame the Aam Aadmi Party by disseminating misinformation should publicly apologise for their actions. Furthermore, the Prime Minister of India should shoulder the responsibility and publicly apologize for the deep-rooted conspiracy that he and his office have been involved in. The truth shall prevail.
