A distressing incident involving the rape of a mentally challenged minor girl has come to light in Mumbai. The perpetrators subjected the girl to a brutal assault inside a moving taxi, callously threw her on the road and fled. In response to this horrifying incident, the police have apprehended two accused, one of whom is the taxi driver. Both individuals have been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

The incident occurred on September 18 when a 14-year-old minor had a disagreement with her family. In anger, she left her home and boarded a taxi driven by Prakash Pandey with the intention of reaching her relative’s residence in the Malvani area.

During the journey to Malvani, the driver, Prakash Pandey, picked up his acquaintance, a 26-year-old man named Salman, in the Dadar area. Tragically, it was during this ride, between Dadar and Santa Cruz, that Salman subjected the minor girl to a harrowing assault.

Upon reaching Malvani, they cruelly abandoned the victim on the road and fled the scene. Fortunately, the victim managed to reach her relative’s house, where she recounted the horrifying ordeal. Her relatives promptly reported the incident to the police.

The minor victim has undergone a medical examination and is receiving necessary treatment at a hospital. Medical examinations of the accused will also be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
