Gurugram: A workshop on the subject of sexual harassment was organised at the Government College, Sidhravali. The girl students were explained in detail about the rights and legal aspects related to women. Information was also given regarding the action to be taken in the event of any kind of exploitation of women in the workplace.

The programme was co-hosted by the ICC and the Legal Literacy Cell. In this, Punjab and Haryana High Court counsel Nikhil Kaushik shed light on several sections of the Sexual Harassment Act 2013. He spoke on the act’s provisions for numerous specific rights for women. He stated that in any company with ten or more female employees, a complaint committee must be formed at the local level. A woman who is dissatisfied with the committee’s investigation or decision may file a complaint with the district committee. He stated that there are strict legal safeguards in place to prevent and punish workplace harassment of women.

The ICC and the Legal Literacy Cell co-hosted the event. Nikhil Kaushik, a Punjab and Haryana High Court advocate, shed light on numerous clauses of the Sexual Harassment Act 2013. He discussed the act’s provisions for a variety of special rights for women. He added that any company with ten or more female employees must organise a complaint committee at the local level. A woman may file a complaint with the district committee if she is dissatisfied with the committee’s investigation or decision. He said that rigorous legal measures are in place to prevent and punish workplace harassment of women.
