Greater Noida: For the last 17 days, the protest of farmers is going on outside the Greater Noida Development Authority. On Thursday, the farmers reiterated that they are not going to move from here until their demands are met. Kisan Sabha spokesperson Dr. Rupesh Verma said that on May 15, a large number of farmers in the area along with their families are ready to come to the Greater Noida Authority.
Rupesh Verma said, “We should get 10 per cent developed residential plots equally. 17.5% quota should be restored to the farmers in the authority’s housing schemes. Employment arrangements should be made for the regional youth in the industries to be set up in the authority area.”
Farmer Surendra Sunpura says that the authority is directly buying our valuable lands at very cheap prices through the registry. Whereas more than 8 years have passed since the new land acquisition was implemented in the country. If the authority requires our land, then compensation of four times the market rate as per the law should be given.
Subedar Brahmapal, senior vice-president of the Kisan Sabha, said that the authority is not developing the residential plots allotted to the farmers. There are no facilities and we are being pressurized to build. The penalty is imposed on the basis of an allotment letter only. This is an injustice to the farmers. The penalty imposed on the plots of farmers should be abolished immediately.
