Greater Noida: Ex-CDA Officer Asks Man Not To Drink Liquor In Society Park, Found Dead on Bench; One Arrested

The Greater Noida police on Tuesday announced that they have solved the blind murder case of a 67-year-old retired Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA) officer, reported Hindustan Times. The retired officer identified as Hari Prasad was shot dead near his society in Bisrakh, Greater Noida by unidentified suspect on August 7.

DCP Gautam Buddha Nagar, Shakti Mohan Avasthy told that the suspect has been identified as 32-year-old, Malkit Singh alias Loliya Don, resident of Geeta Colony in Delhi.

Avasthy said that Malkit Singh is a habitual offender and he had stopped near the society’s park to drink alcohol. Prasad had tried to stop him from drinking at the park which enraged Malkit and he went on to kill him. He shot Prasad with the pistol he was carrying and stole his smartphone also.

However, the family is not satisfied with the investigation and statement of police. The family said that Prasad was a decent man and never misbehaved with anyone. They alleged that police cleared the two people who were caught on CCTV footage and the suspect they have arrested was not even in the footage. The family members stated that they will look into legal procedure to find the real culprit.

On family’s claim, DCP Avasthy told HT that the family members can proved them with leads if they aren’t convinced with the investigation. The suspect was arrested after gathering multiple evidences. He further added that the suspect has admitted to his crime.

What Was The Case?

Officials told HT that Hari Prasad had retired as a senior auditor from CDA in 2015. He lived with his elder son in Stellar Jeevan society, who works at Central Bank of India in Delhi.

According to the police, Hari Prasad was seated on a roadside bench nearby his society when he was shot in the neck from behind. The incident occurred on the morning of August 7. His son was in the office when the incident took place.

The family suspected that it was a professional hit because of the nature of the shot. Also, no one had seen the incident. He was carrying cash around Rs 9000 and was wearing a gold ring, both of them were as it is, but his smartphone was stolen.
