New Delhi: In an odd case from Uttar Pradesh’s Noida, a foreign youth threatened a young woman with suicide out of one-sided love. The victim in this case had filed a written complaint with the Sector-39 Kotwali police. On Monday, police apprehended the accused, Aashiq. The accused was brought before the court by the police and sentenced to prison.
Threatened with suicide via video call
Inspector Rajeev Balyan, in charge of the Sector-39 police station, stated that Manoj Nepali, who lives in Aghapur village, is in one-sided love with a girl. He proposed the girl but she declined. Manoj, he said, made a video call to the girl late Sunday night and threatened to kill himself by cutting a vein in her hand.
‘I will frame you by committing suicide,’ threatened accused
Manoj Nepali allegedly threatened the victim, “If you don’t love me, I will frame you by committing suicide.”
According to the station’s in-charge, the girl reported the incident to the police. On Monday, the accused was arrested by police investigating the case. The accused is a Nepalese national.
