Special commissioner (crime) Ravindra Yadav said, “The team had received information about online IPL cricket betting being organised at a building in Sector-16, Rohini, after which a raid was conducted and the suspects were apprehended.”

The accused employed unlawful internet betting applications through platforms that advertised international betting rates on win/loss while streaming online matches. They also used to take the live match queue, which was normally a few seconds ahead of the live stream. The queue was then extended to their other counterparts via suitcases/boxes containing several mobile phones interconnected with one another, allowing them to conduct conference calls amongst themselves.
