Noida: The Noida Police Commissionerate has achieved the top spot in the entire Uttar Pradesh for its prompt and efficient handling of public grievances. This remarkable feat is credited to IPS officer Lakshmi Singh, the first female IPS officer to hold the position of Police Commissioner in Noida. Under her leadership, the Noida Police Commissionerate has set a shining example in resolving citizens’ complaints and issues.

A first-of-its-kind achievement

Lakshmi Singh took charge of the Noida Police Commissionerate six months ago, succeeding IPS officer Alok Singh. Her relentless efforts to address complaints received on the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal have paid off, earning the Commissionerate the prestigious top spot in the state for public grievance redressal. This marks the first time that the Noida Police Commissionerate has achieved such recognition.

Role of IGRS in transforming policing

After the formation of the Noida Police Commissionerate, the Chief Minister’s Office began conducting regular reviews of the redressal of grievances received on the IGRS portal. Lakshmi Singh herself reviews the complaints received on the portal every Friday. This continuous monitoring of complaints and prompt action taken by the Commissioner has brought significant improvements to the functioning of the Commissionerate since January 2023. Earlier, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate was ranked fourth in March and fifth in May for resolving complaints across the state.

Lakshmi Singh’s remarkable journey

Lakshmi Singh, an exemplary IPS officer, has proved her mettle in various positions throughout her career. As the second female IPS officer to lead the Noida Police Commissionerate, she is setting new milestones in efficient policing and citizen welfare. Her dedication and leadership have won her accolades and admiration from both the public and her colleagues.

Beacon of hope for effective policing

The Noida Police Commissionerate, under the visionary leadership of IPS officer Lakshmi Singh, stands as a beacon of hope for effective policing and public grievance redressal in Uttar Pradesh. The success achieved by the Commissionerate is a testament to the power of diligence and commitment in bringing positive change to society.
