Noida: Several private schools reportedly received bomb threats via email on Wednesday. The students were immediately evacuated from their respective buildings after receiving the threats, however, nothing suspicious was found. Noida Police have launched an investigation into the matter, meanwhile, the bomb squads are checking for anything suspicious.
Noida Police, bomb squad, and fire brigade team have launched a search operation at the school premises. According to reports, after nothing suspicious was found, some schools commenced the classes. Efforts are underway to find the origin of the e-mail and the sender.
Meanwhile, the students, school staff, and parents were asked to keep calm. The Principal of Mayoor School sent a notification to the parents earlier in the day stating, “A precautionary evacuation of all the students is underway. At present, the students, staff, and visitors are safely assembled on the field”.
Additionally, he added that they will be dispersing the students via buses and update the parents after the verification process is finished, reports added. These hoax threats came almost a month after the Delhi Police made a shocking revelation regarding the bomb threat emails received by two schools in Rohini. The threats were allegedly sent by the schools’ own students because they wanted to postpone their exams.
“After investigation, the Special Cell of Delhi Police found that the emails were sent to both the schools by two different students of the same school. They had sent the email to stop the exam since they were not prepared for the exam paper,” Delhi Police said.
