Noida: Noida Traffic police on Thursday held a meeting with operators of autos and e-rickshaws operators to improve last-mile connectivity and ease traffic congestion in major areas.
During the meeting, a total of 23 routes were identified across Noida and Greater Noida, from 101 to 123, including markets, malls, residential areas, educational institutions, sectors, and villages.
Key Details Of The New Route System
According to reports, DCP (Traffic) Yamuna Prasad said, “The autos and e-rickshaws plying on these routes have been given specific numbers.” Additionally, he clarified that some of the autos and e-rickshaws have been marked with stickers according to their designated routes.
Noida and Greater Noida Key Routes
- Route 101: Sector 37 to Jhundpura via Sector 15
- Route 102: Sector 37 to Kalindi Kunj
- Route 103: From Sector 37 to Sector 125 (Amity University)
- Route 104: Attapeer to Sector 37
- Route 105: Model Town to Sector 37
NOTE: The reserved autos and e-rickshaws are exempted from the route restrictions. Passengers booking a ride to particular destinations can still avail direct transport to the routes.
Noida Auto Union Voices Concerns On Route Restrictions
Om Prakash Gurjar, Noida Auto Union President, clarified that not all autos will be restricted in these routes. “With almost 20,000 registered autos in Gautam Budh Nagar, functioning within a 16-kilometer radius in areas such as Noida City Centre, Phase 2, Dadri, and Surajpur – these routes will primarily apply to shared autos. These shared autos are about 10% of the total number of autos in that area,” he said.
This move has been well-received by E-rickshaw drivers.
