New Delhi: Former Congress leader Mahabal Mishra joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday in the presence of party supremo Arvind Kejriwal in a public rally at Paharganj in the national capital.

Mahabal Mishra is an influential leader of Purvanchal community and his entrance to the AAP comes weeks ahead of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls. Mahabal Mishra has been a three-time MLA and a concilor from the Congress party.

It should be noted that Mahabal Mishra is the son of Vinay Mishra who is an AAP MLA from Dwarka. During the ceremony, along with the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was also present.

Addressing a huge rally in Pahadganj, Kejriwal said “Don’t vote for those who want to stop development and welfare work in Delhi.”

The voting for MCD polls will take place on December 4 while the counting will be done on December 7.

At least 42 seats have been reserved for SC while, 50 per cent seats have been dedicated to women candidates.
