New Delhi: Ahead of the G20 summit, which will be held in September, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has recognised four roads for beautification. Shahdara South Zone has selected four teams to complete the project on time.
Ahead of the G-20 Summit, the national capital is set to undergo various beautification efforts, including encroachment removal, cleaning, and plantation work on the roads to enhance aesthetics. In line with the G-20 preparation strategy, the MCD also replaces old, damaged dustbins as needed. The MCD is engaged in multifaceted projects to improve road infrastructure, refurbish roads, enhance footpaths, renew signage, and beautify underpasses.

The Rodas has been selected by MCD for beautifications include, Bharatendu Harishchandra Marg, Somnath Marg, Maharaja Surajmal Marg, and Vikas Marg, connecting to Leela Ambience Convention, Karkardooma.
MCD said, “The MCD is doing proper cleaning, beautification, encroachment removal and greening work on these roads. Daily cleaning is being done along with removing garbage/debris from the identified roads.”
They added that old vehicles have been removed from the CBD ground and instructed to paint the G-2 Cafe located near it. “Apart from this, illegal banners and posters are being removed. It is noteworthy that guests from abroad will stay at the Leela Ambience Convention, due to which beautification work is being done in the surrounding area” MCD said.
The civic body said, “Rigorous cleaning of all roads is underway, bolstered by the deployment of sanitation workers to prevent any dumping. Stringent actions are being taken against those engaged in improper waste disposal and littering. The daily removal of temporary encroachments and the elimination of illegal banners, posters, and hoardings from walls are integral parts of this endeavour, spearheaded by specially constituted teams.”
