New Delhi: The Badrinath Yatra has been suspended today (May 5) due to bad weather. Apart from this, there was a sudden landslide on the hill near Helang village in the Chamoli district on the Badrinath National Highway, due to which the road was completely closed. At the same time, due to bad weather in Kedarnath, registration has been stopped until May 8.
According to reports, intermittent snowfall and rain have continued in the Himalayan shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath (Kedarnath-Badrinath) since Monday, due to which the authorities have appealed to the Chardham pilgrims to proceed with the yatra only after taking precautions.
Registration for Kedarnath Dham has been suspended till May 8 in view of the possibility of inclement weather in Kedarghati for the next three to four days: Government of Uttarakhand
Till May 4, 1.23 lakh devotees have visited Kedarnath Dham.

Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee chairman Ajendra Ajay said, “Pilgrims, especially those coming to Kedarnath, are advised to proceed on the yatra only after checking the weather and making advance arrangements for stay so that they do not face any kind of inconvenience.”

According to ANI, due to the possibility of bad weather in Kedarghati for the next three to four days, registration for Kedarnath Dham has been stopped until May 8. It has been said by the Uttarakhand government that, till May 4, 1.23 lakh devotees have visited Kedarnath Dham. The Meteorological Office has issued a yellow alert for Monday in view of the forecast of hailstorms, rain, and snowfall at places above 3,500 metres in Uttarakhand.
