Improvement in government schools of Punjab than before, expansion in admission

Chandigarh: The Punjab government, headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has delivered books to all government schools in the state before the start of the new academic session so that the education of students does not suffer. The above disclosure was made by the School Education Minister of Punjab, Mr Harjot Singh Bains today visited many other government schools including the border areas of district Ferozepur to know about the condition of education facilities available in the government schools of the state.

He said that the books were never received by the students on time during the previous governments.

The cabinet minister told that a lot of reforms are being done in the government schools by the government headed by Bhagwant Mann and because of this reform, enrollment in government schools has also increased today.

He told that during the admission drive launched this year, many government officials/teachers have also got their children admitted to government schools.

He appealed to the parents of the children to get their children enrolled in government schools as there has been a lot of change in the government schools and there has been a complete improvement in education and infrastructure. He said that in the coming time, such government schools would be set up in Punjab where there would be full staff, coaches for different activities/games, principals would bring training from abroad, and business classes would be set up which means they would be like private schools.

There will be government schools to compete with. He said that the Punjab government had promised to provide quality education to the people of Punjab, for which it would leave no stone unturned to fulfil it.

During this, Education Minister Mr Harjot Singh Bains first reached the school in a boat in a boat to know the condition of the government school in the border village of Kalu Wala situated on the Sutlej River. He said that he came to know some time back that two girl students of Kalu Wala village go to school daily in a boat and people of this village also use this boat to go to the city or other villages. Because of this today he himself has come here to understand this fact. He said that the students here have to face many difficulties on a daily basis to get an education.

He said that the demand to build a bridge on this river is absolutely justified. He said that today he will get the estimate related to this bridge prepared by the officials of District Ferozepur and take it with him and Chief Minister Punjab S. Will put this matter before Bhagwant Mann and he has full faith that his demand will be fulfilled on behalf of the Chief Minister.

During this, he established government schools of Sarhadi Village Tendi Wala, Gatti Rahime Ke, Gatti Rajo Ke and Jhuge Hazara Singh Wala, Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) Ferozepur City, Government School Satie Wala, Government Primary School Muddki, Government School Girls Muddki etc. Also visited During the visit, he interacted with the students of the school and took feedback regarding the school and also interacted with the staff of the school.

During this, he instructed the BDPO to get the tiles installed in Gatti Rahime’s government school by using the funds received for the installation of interlock tiles. He praised the teachers and staff for the work done in the school and the contribution made by the social workers in the government school Gatti Raju for providing good education facilities. 

On his behalf, a grant of Rs 2 lakh was announced for the government school of Tendiwala village for new rooms and about Rs 50 lakh for the government school girls Muddki. Apart from this, wherever there is a need to construct new rooms in government schools, install interlock tiles, to get boundary walls done, he also assured to provide funds for the same. During the tour, he also had a mid-day meal with the school students.

During this MLA Ferozepur Urban S. Ranbir, Singh Bhullar thanked Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains for the visit to the schools in the Ferozepur district.
