Karnataka Assembly Polls: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Incharge of Karnataka unit Arun Singh Tuesday said Karnataka minister R Ashoka has appeared to public as a replacement of Congress’ DK Shivkumar.

Meanwhile, DK Shivakumar has filed his nomination from the Kanakapura seat already on Monday and staked claim that the garnd-old party will surpass the 150 seats mark in the 224-member Karnataka Legislative Assembly.

DK Shivakumar filed nomination already

A huge roadshow was organsied for Shivakumar before filing the nomination from the seat that made him MLA for 7 times. The Congress Karnataka president exded confidence in the Kanakapura public and said that the party will form government in the state.

“Guided by the blessing of my people of Karnataka, filed my nomination today from Kanakapura constituency. I have full faith in Karnataka, as we are all set to root out corruption and poor governance in the coming few days,” Shivakumar tweeted.

DK Shivakumar welcomed Jagadish Shettar

Meanwhile, the Congress MLA had earlier welcomed former BJP veteran Jagadish Sehttar to the party. Shettar joined Congress on Monday following a huge political brawl that shacked the BJP dispensation in Karnataka.

Day before Shettar resigned, BJP’s another loyalist and former deputy chief minister Laxaman Savadi left the party due to a disappointment over the ticket distribution. Savadi had also joined Congress.

Speaking to press person, DK Shivakumar said that there were a bunch of BJP leaders who wanted to switch parties but the Congress does not have space to accomodate them.
