Bank of India Star Run 2.0

Bank of India Star run 2.0 was held in the national capital today. The marathon was organised on the lines of ‘Swasth Bharat, Viksit Bharat.’ More than 2000 people participated in this run. This event aimed to highlight the importance of running to reduce the stress of work life. Apart form the bank employees, customers of Delhi-NCR took part in this Star run 2.0 marathon. The marathon was categorized into two slots of 10km and 5 km and the winners were given certificates by the Bank of India. Separate age groups were created for the people.

Lokesh Krishna, General Manager of Bank of India, said that motive behind the run is Fit India, and everyone grows and stays fit along with the bank’s advertisement. He informed that the marathon was started last year, and this year marathon 2.0 was organised. He told that this time, along with the Staff of the bank, some customers were also invited to participate in the run.

Zonal Head of Bank of India, Amit Singh highlighted the importance of team effort in successful conduct of the event. He applauded GM Lokesh Krishna for his unwavering support. He said the main purpose of the event was to motivate people in banking sector to take out time for themselves. Therefore, it was decided to hold this marathon annually so that bankers focus on their fitness. “One hour for yourself,” is of utmost importance said, Amit Singh. He talked about the stress that engulfs banking sector.

DGM of Corporate Branch, Bank of India, Prasanna said that average age of an employee of Bank of India is 35-37 and they are full of energy. So, to motivate these individuals and give them a message that banking is fun, this idea was put into effect.

Ajay Pant of Government Business Department at Bank of India, said they wanted to give two messages which are ‘Run India, Fit India’ and focus on work-life balance. He stressed that if we can give ourselves a little time, then we can keep ourselves fit. He said that as a banker they lead a very stressful life and if they devote time to these activities, they can stray fit.

Participants spoke to News 24 and said that ‘Fit India’ should be the motto of people, and if they keep themselves happy, then only they can contribute in nation’s interest.
