Karimganj (Assam): The Assam Police has arrested two people who allegedly posed as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers to extort money from people. The arrest was made from Karimganj.
As per a report of the news agency PTI, the two accused have been identified as Dilwar Hussain and Rashid Ahmed.
An official informed that the information was received from a businessman from Patharkandi area. As per the information, the person who duped as a CBI officer demanded Rs 2 lakh from him.

The official informed that they tracked a mobile phone number while carrying out an investigation. The police apprehended two persons namely Dilwar Hussain and Rashid Ahmed. Ahmed used the phone of Dilwar to call the person impersonating himself as CBI officer.
A case has been registered against the duo.
