New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested an accused who claims to be Spanish actor Manu Rios. The person is accused of cheating a girl on Instagram. The accused threatened the victim that her personal photos would go viral.
Thereafter a demand of two mobile phones, three SIM cards and one memory card have been recovered from the accused. The victim is a 25-year-old woman who is a resident of Chandni Chowk and is working in Noida.
Registered a complaint with cyber crime portal
She registered a complaint with Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) through the cyber crime complaint portal. The complaint was registered with the Cyber Police Station. In the complaint, the victim pointed out that the the accused introduced himself as Spanish actor Manu Rios.
Following this both of them turned friends from acquaintances. Later, the accused started demanding money from the victim by threatening to make her private photos go viral.
Identified as Abuzar Rehman
The police started investigating the case. The Instagram profile of the accused was found. He was identified as 22-year-old Abuzar Rehman. He describes himself as a Spanish actor and posts his pictures.
He has posted pictures of Spanish actor Manu Rios from the internet and posted it on his profile. He has a good command over the English language which helped him in impersonation. It is suspected that he has done this with other girls as well.
