New Delhi: A 70-year-old man accused of raping a 10-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. A girl living in Bisrakh police station area used to go to study tuition from a retired teacher (accused) living in the neighborhood. It is alleged that the elderly teacher raped the girl several times. The matter came to light when the girl was pregnant, after which a case was registered against her.
Accused committed the crime in year 2020
According to the information, the incident is of the year 2020. The girl lives with her family in the Bisrakh police station area of Noida. There lived a retired teacher in his neighborhood. The girl’s family used to send the girl to him for taking tuition classes. It is alleged that during this time the elderly man raped the girl for several months. After sometime the girl became pregnant and the family member became aware of the entire matter.
Case has been registered, accused arrested
The family members of the girl immediately complained about the matter to the police station. Police registered a case against the accused and arrested him. Since then the matter is sub-judice.
Special Public Prosecutor Neetu Bishnoi, Additional District Sessions Court, Gautam Budh Nagar told that the accused used to teach the girl living in the neighborhood. He raped her several times and she became pregnant. Five months later, the girl told her family members, after which a police complaint was lodged.
Sentenced to 10 years in jail, Rs 50,000 fine
Bishnoi said on Thursday that the victim’s testimony, other witnesses and medical reports played an important role in getting the accused convicted. Special Judge (POCSO) Anil Kumar Singh has sentenced the teacher to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years and a fine of Rs 50,000 under IPC section 376 (rape). The judge said that out of the fine, 80% will be paid to the victim for trauma, pain and suffering under Section 357-A of CrPC.
