Wipro launches ai360, a new platform for tech

New Delhi: IT giant Wipro has launched an initiative ‘Wipro ai360’. The goal of the initiative is to enhance the technology in each of its platforms, tools and solutions for its customer base.

The IT company is also looking forward to invest $1 billion in advancing AI capabilities over the course of the next three years.

Wipro ai360’s mission is to build a new ecosystem of value, productivity and commercial opportunities through the application of AI and generative AI, said the company.

“Artificial Intelligence is a fast-moving field,” said Thierry Delaporte, chief executive officer and managing director, of Wipro.

AI training for its employees

Wipro said that it ensures that all of its 2,50,000 employees will be trained in AI to make certain of their fundamental basics of technology and its responsible use. With this, the company will be making a curriculum to mentor its employees in their AI journey and provide an ongoing journey for those who specialize in AI roles.

Wipro ai360 plans to inject 30,000 experts in data analytics and AI with the company’s technology and advisory ecosystem.

Furthermore, the company said, “Especially with the emergence of generative AI, we expect a fundamental shift up ahead, for all industries. New business models, new ways of working, and new challenges, too. This is exactly why Wipro’s ai360 ecosystem places responsible AI operations at the heart of all our AI work. It’s meant to empower our talent pool and be ubiquitous across all our operations and processes, as well as our solutions for clients. We are ready for the AI-driven future.”

Meanwhile, the company will also be investing in technology start-ups through Wipro ventures. Over time, Wipro will make a curriculum that will elaborate on the complete AI journey for different roles.
