Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja: Elon Musk, one of the richest people in the world and owner of companies like X, Tesla and SpaceX, is also well known for his new and surprising decisions. Tesla made a big announcement on Monday. The company has appointed Vaibhav Taneja of Indian origin as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Tesla.
Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja has been given this responsibility after Zachary Kirkhorn stepped down from his post. Kirkhorn informed on his LinkedIn account that he has left this position after being a part of the company for 13 years. He thanked Tesla CEO Elon Musk for his leadership.

Kirkhorn wrote – This morning Tesla announced that I have stepped down from my role as Chief Financial Officer. Vaibhav Taneja, our Chief Accounting Officer, has replaced me. Being a part of this company is a special experience and I take immense pride in the work we do. We have worked together since joining the company thirteen years ago. Kirkhorn further wrote- I want to thank the talented, passionate and hard-working employees of Tesla, who have accomplished things that many considered impossible.
Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja: Academic background
Vaibhav Taneja begins his journey from Delhi University. He is a commerce graduate from Delhi University. Taneja became part of the Tesla team after joining SolarCity in 2016. Tesla acquired SolarCity. He became the Assistant Corporate Controller in February 2017. He was promoted in the year 2018. He got the new designation of Corporate Controller during this time. After this, in 2019, he was appointed Chief Accounting Officer of the company.
