Aadhaar has evolved into one of the most important documents in our lives. It is required when opening a bank account, obtaining a wifi connection, and for other reasons. Because it is required for almost every purpose, it may be abused and never come to our attention.

So, in order to determine whether someone used your Aadhaar card to obtain a SIM card, the government established a portal. This will allow you to see how many sim cards are registered in your name and how many are still active.

TAFCOP (Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection) is a portal launched by the Department of Telecommunications that allows you to easily find out how many mobile phones are registered in your name.

The department increased the number of mobile connections per person to 18 in 2018. It comes with 9 SIM cards for general mobile use and the remaining 9 for M2M (Machine to Machine) communications.

Here’s how to find out active SIM cards issued against your Aadhaar card:

Step 1: Go to tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in

Step 2: Enter your mobile phone number and click the ‘Request OTP’ button.

Step 3: You will be directed to the OTP panel.

Step 4: Enter the OTP and then press the ‘Validate’ button.

Step 5: You can now see mobile numbers/SIM cards associated with your Aadhaar.
