Indian stock market on Wednesday added to their gains for the fourth straight day as they followed strong cues from US markets and a relative drop in crude oil prices around the world.

At 9.44 am, the Sensex was up 313.17 points, or 0.53 percent, and the Nifty was up 89.05 points, or 0.51 percent, at 17,576.00 points.

According to financial experts, Strong corporate earnings reports helped extend a rise to start the week, and this helped the US markets end higher yesterday. As a result of the largely favourable signals from US markets overnight, Asian markets are currently trading mostly higher.

Market condition today

A total of 1,551 companies started trading on the BSE today. Out of which 998 shares opened with a rise and 473 with a fall. While the share rates of 80 companies are stable. The same today 78 shares are trading at the 52-week high and 16 stocks at the 52-week low.

Today’s major stocks

Talking about today’s rising stocks, shares of many companies including HDFC, HDFC Bank, UltraTech Cement, Cipla, ITC are seeing a rise.

On the other hand, if we look at the falling stocks, many companies including HCL Tech, ONGC, SBI, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv are seeing a decline in the stock.

Rupee opened with a firm 3 paise against the dollar

In the international market, the rupee today opened with a strength of 3 paise at Rs 82.33 against the dollar. Earlier on the previous trading day on Tuesday, the rupee had closed at a level of Rs 82.36 with a weakness of 1 paise against the dollar.

Condition of the market in the last days

Tuesday (October 18): The Sensex closed at 58,960 with a jump of 549 points, while the Nifty closed at 17,486 points, up about 175 points.

Monday (October 17): The Sensex closed at 58,410 with a gain of 491 points, while the Nifty fell 126 points to close at 17,311 points.

Friday (October 16): The Sensex closed at 57,919 with a gain of 684 points, while the Nifty closed at 17,185 with a gain of 171 points.

Thursday (October 15): The Sensex closed down 390 points at 57,235 points. While the Nifty climbed 109 points to close at 17,014 points.

Wednesday (14 October): The Sensex closed at 57,625 points with a gain of 478 points. While the Nifty climbed 140 points to close at 17,123 points.
