7th Pay Commission: It seems like good days are waiting ahead for central government employees and pensioners. Once again the demand of increase in Dearness Allowance is rising on its pace. (7th Pay Commission) However, the next dearness allowance will now be implemented from July 1, 2023, but the numbers of DA Hike have already started coming.

The government reviews DA and DR twice a year. The first is in January and the second is in July. It is expected that the next increase in DA-DR will be in the month of July. At present, the dearness allowance is 42 per cent. Which is applicable from January 2023.

4 % DA hike in July

According to media reports, the increase in DA and DR in July is not certain yet. The DA and DR increase will depend on the rate of inflation. The increase in DA and DR is required to combat high inflation and maintain up with the inflation.

According to media reports, the government may gift 4% increase in dearness allowance to central employees and pensioners in July as well. If this happens, then the dearness allowance of central employees will jump to 46 % from the current 42 per cent.

There are speculations that the central government may continue the trend of four per cent hike in DA and DR. The central government has been increasing the dearness allowance by 4 percent continuously for the last two times. For the first time, July 2022 DA was increased by 4 percent from 34 percent to 38 percent.

DA and DR status in July 2023

After this, on March 24, 2023, the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of central employees was increased by 4 percent. After this DA went from 38 to 42 percent. Now people’s eyes are fixed on the next dearness allowance which is to be announced in July 2023.

Chances are If this happens, the dearness allowance, which has reached 42 per cent, may jump to 46 per cent in July. However, after the arrival of new figures of AICPI, it will be further decided whether the government will increase DA by 3 percent or 4 percent.

After this increase in DA Hike and DA Hike, once again a big increase can be registered in the salary and pension of about 47.58 lakh central employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners. Significantly, DA is based on the basic salary of the employee. Increase in DA increases your take-home salary.
