Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air: A Special Edition Electric Boat
This special edition boat from Austrian builder Frauscher is an all-electric adaptation of the standard 850 Fantom Air. The Macan’s 100kWh battery finds its place beneath the ‘lounge area,’ with its electric motor delivering a formidable 536bhp, ensuring a thrilling aquatic experience.
Performance on Water: Speed, Range, and Power Modes
The result of this innovative collaboration is a boat capable of reaching a top speed of nearly 53mph on the water, with a cruising range of 28 miles at an optimum speed of 25mph. Porsche offers Docking, Range, Sport, and Sport Plus modes for the powertrain, with a potential range exceeding 62 miles. The boat promises “typical customer trips” lasting two to three hours, showcasing its practicality.
Porsche – Charging and Practical Considerations
With the Macan’s 800-volt architecture, the boat can accept rapid charging speeds of over 250kW when the battery is near empty. However, a consideration for boat owners is the availability of accessible fast chargers at boatyards, as towing to a motorway service station might not be as convenient.
A Milestone in Marine Innovation
Frauscher Shipyard’s Managing Director, Stefan Frauscher, hails the electric Fantom Air as an industry milestone, emphasizing its superiority in driving characteristics while remaining locally emission-free.

Porsche Touch in Design and Comfort
Beyond the powertrain, Porsche’s influence extends to the cockpit, featuring a classic five-gauge design, a recognizable Porsche steering wheel, and saltwater-resistant artificial leather trim. The seats take inspiration from Porsche’s road cars, providing accommodation for up to nine passengers.
Personalization on Water: Porsche Options for the Seas
Just like on land, the classic Porsche options list is available for water enthusiasts, offering the entire color palette available for Porsche’s road vehicles. The starting price of €561,700 (approximately £485k) for the limited 25 examples suggests a premium aquatic experience.
