Toyota is expanding the adventure horizon for off-road enthusiasts with the introduction of a mild hybrid variant in its revered pickup truck, the Toyota Hilux. This upgrade promises to amplify the already robust capabilities of this 4×4 SUV, setting a new bar for off-roading excitement.
The forthcoming Hilux variant will integrate a 48-volt mild hybrid system, slated to roll out globally by mid-2024 before potentially reaching the Indian market. This enhancement is poised to deliver an additional surge of power to the vehicle’s engine, boasting a substantial output of 16 bhp and 65 Nm of torque.
Presently, the Toyota Hilux available in the market is equipped with a potent 2.8-liter diesel engine and offers six distinct driving modes: Dirt, Mud, Rock, Sand, Deep Snow, and Automatic. Its impressive water wading capacity of 27.5 inches amplifies its versatility on various terrains. With ample seating for five individuals and generous cargo space, this multipurpose vehicle caters to both travel and utility needs.
The existing lineup comprises three variants, with the base model priced at Rs 30.41 lakh ex-showroom, featuring both manual and automatic transmission options. Notably, the Hilux incorporates the Hill Hold Assist feature, preventing backward sliding on inclined surfaces, ensuring a secure drive.
