Toyota India: Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced on Monday that its wholesale sales fell 6% to 14,162 vehicles in April. This is due to a one-week maintenance downtime during the month.

In April 2022, the company delivered 15,086 units in the domestic market. In April, the company also exported 1,348 units of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The corporation announced a one-week maintenance shutdown from April 24-28, 2023, for machinery and equipment repair in order to maintain operational efficiency, productivity, and safety.

“The company is witnessing high demand as well as good response,” said Atul Sood, Vice President, Sales & Strategic Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, in a release.

“Needless to say, we are extremely thrilled to see the very positive response from the market.”

He also stated that the Hilux, Innova Crysta, and the new Innova Hycross are still selling well. They are highly sought after.

“Our SUV segment share has also been steadily increasing, driven by Fortuner and Legender segment leadership as well as the success of Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which continues to lead with over 82 percent market share in Q1 CY 2023,” Sood noted.

He also mentioned that the Vellfire and Camry Hybrid are regularly contributing to the company’s sales.
