New Delhi: Japanese automobile company Toyota has increased the prices of the strong-hybrid version of its SUV Urban Cruiser Highrider, launched in the Indian market last year, by Rs 50,000. The car comes in Strong Hybrid in three trims namely S, G and V. Now the starting ex-showroom price of the Strong Hybrid version of this car has gone up to Rs 15.61 lakh.
Increase of ₹50,000
Toyota has increased the entire range of Urban Cruiser Highrider Strong Hybrid by Rs 50,000. However, there has been no change in the prices of its mild hybrid variant.
How is the powertrain?
This midsize SUV from Toyota gets a strong-hybrid powertrain. The car gets a 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson cycle engine. This engine produces 92hp power and 122Nm torque. It is mated to eCVT gearbox. The car is also powered by an electric motor that outputs 79hp and 141Nm.

Its mild-hybrid system gets a 0.76kWh lithium-ion battery, the company claims a mileage of 27.97kmpl in mild-hybrid.
These cars compete
In the Indian market, the Hyrider competes with the Grand Vitara of Maruti Suzuki. Also, this car competes with Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Volkswagen Taigun.
