The Maruti Jimny and Mahindra’s Thar have been in the spotlight for SUV enthusiasts, with comparisons arising between these two vehicles upon Jimny’s launch. While Jimny aims to challenge Thar’s dominance in the car market, sales data reveals a stronger affinity among consumers for the Mahindra Thar.

In October, a substantial gap was observed in sales figures, with a total of 5593 units of Thar sold compared to 1852 units of Jimny in the same period. Notably, Jimny’s sales have seen a consistent decline since July, whereas Thar’s sales have remained steady, maintaining an average figure of around five thousand units each month.

Notably, it’s equipped with both manual and automatic transmissions, delivering a maximum power of up to 150 bhp and a mileage of 15.2 kmpl with its 6-speed gearbox.

Maruti Jimny

The Jimny, an impressive all-wheel-drive vehicle, is exclusively available in the petrol version, starting at Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). It seats four individuals and offers two trims: Zeta and Alpha. The SUV boasts a ground clearance of 210 mm, ideal for navigating challenging terrains. It operates with a 1462 cc engine, featuring six variants and a boot space of 211 liters. The Jimny provides both manual and automatic transmissions, comes in seven colors, and offers a maximum mileage of up to 16.94 kmpl. It’s available with two gearboxes: 5-speed and 4-speed, delivering 105 PS power and 134 Nm torque.
