New Delhi: Tata Motors showcased the Harrier and Safari SUVs in the new Red Dark Edition at the 2023 Auto Expo. Now the company is going to launch both these cars in the market today. The company has also confirmed that along with these two cars, the company is also going to launch the Tata Nexon in Dark Red Edition.
What will be the specialty?
In this new edition, these cars will get Oberon Black body colour, Zircon Red inserts in the front grille, #DARK logo on the fenders and Satin Daytona Gray front and rear skid plates. Along with this, 18-inch Blackstone alloy wheels will also be available. In the cabin of these cars, the new Red Dark Edition will see Carnelian Red theme, piano black accents on the central console and doors, leatherette seats with diamond cut quilting, steel black front dashboard design and steering wheel. The same features can be found in the Red Dark Edition of the Tata Nexon.

How will the features
The Red Dark edition of these cars will get a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch digital TFT instrument console, over 200 voice commands in 6 regional languages, 9-speaker JBL sound system with amplifier, 360-degree surround view system, Features like iRA connected tech, ventilated front seats, ventilated captain seats in second row (only in Safari), 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat with memory and welcome function, mood lighting in sunroof, 6 airbags and ESP will be available.
How will the engine be?
The Red Dark Edition of Tata Harrier and Safari will get a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which will be capable of generating 168bhp power and 350 Nm torque. This engine will be compliant with BS6 Stage 2 i.e. RDE norms to be implemented from April. This engine is paired with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. While the Nexon Red Dark Edition will get the option of a 1.2L turbo petrol generating 120PS power and a 1.5L turbo diesel engine generating 110PS power. These engines will be mated to 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT gearboxes.

Will get ADAS tech
The new Harrier and Safari Red Dark Edition will also get ADAS system, which includes blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, rear collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, door open alert and lane change alert. The Red Dark edition of the Tata Nexon will get all the features of the Harrier Red Dark apart from the panoramic sunroof and electrically adjustable passenger seats. Along with this, a new touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver display can also be given in it.
Competes with MG Hector
The Tata Harrier will compete with the MG Hector facelift in the Indian market, in which a petrol and a diesel engine option is available. Along with this, ADAS system is also available in this car.
