New Delhi: Tata Motors launched its Altroz in January 2020, after which this vehicle is being well-liked in the country. The car has completed three years in the country. According to the sales and data analytics of a media report, till December 2022, 1,76,596 units of this car have been sold. Which shows that the popularity of this car is very high.
Tata Altroz Sales
Currently, Tata Altroz is sold in a total of 31 variants in the country. After launching, more than 50 thousand units of this car were sold in the first year itself. While in September 2021, Tata Motors sold the 1,00,000th unit of the car. In the financial year 2020-21, 60,379 units of this car were sold and in the financial year 2021-22, 62,247 units of this car were sold. Whereas in the current financial year till April-December 2022, 45,512 units of this car have been sold. These figures reveal that the car is being sold at an average rate of around 5,056 units per month. However, its sales are much lower than other cars in its segment like the i20 and Baleno. The ex-showroom price of Tata Altroz ranges between Rs 6.35 lakh to Rs 10.25 lakh.

How is the powertrain?
Tata Altroz gets a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. It also gets the option of automatic along with manual transmission. However, Tata Motors is going to change the powertrain options of this car, and soon it will also get the option of CNG. Which the company displayed at the Auto Expo this year. Twin cylinder CNG tank setup will be seen in this car. This CNG engine will be capable of producing 77 hp power. From April 2023, it will be the only car in its segment to come with a diesel engine.
Tata Altroz Features
Tata Motors has showcased the Altroz in the sporty racer edition at the Auto Expo with several feature updates. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in this car has been replaced by a 7.0-inch screen. Along with this, features like 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, six airbags, a sunroof, a wireless charger and an air purifier are also available. The new generation model of this car is about to be launched soon.

Competes with Maruti Baleno
Tata Altroz is derived from Maruti’s Baleno hatchback in the Indian market. Maruti Baleno gets a 1.2L petrol engine. Along with this, the option of company fitted CNG kit is also available. The initial ex-showroom price of this car is Rs. 6.56 lakhs.
