New Delhi: Japanese automaker Suzuki has unveiled the mid-size Grand Vitara SUV made in India at the ongoing 2023 Indonesia Motor Show. The Indonesian-spec Suzuki Grand Vitara looks largely identical to the India-spec model; however, it will not be offered with a powerful hybrid drivetrain.

In terms of proportions, the Suzuki Grand Vitara measures 4,345mm in length, 1,795mm in width and 1,645mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. It is powered by a 1.5 liter K15C Dual Jet petrol engine with mild hybrid SHVS technology.

This engine is capable of producing 103 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 136.8 Nm at 4,400 rpm. A six-speed torque converter automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels is standard.
The India model is also available with a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder Toyota petrol engine with a self-charging battery. Combined power and torque is 115 hp and 121 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an e-CVT. It is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 27.97 kmpl.
The Indonesian-styled Grand Vitara is available in two variants – GX and GL. For safety and security, the SUV is equipped with 6 airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD and brake assist, 360 degree camera, rear parking camera with parking sensors, hill control and more.
It is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, LED projector headlamp with automatic guide lighting, cruise control, Head Up Display (HUD) and wireless charging smartphone and 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, etc.
Maruti Grand Vitara CNG India
Maruti Suzuki recently introduced the CNG-powered Grand Vitara in the country. It is available in two variants – Delta MT and Zeta MT – priced at Rs 12.85 lakh and Rs 14.84 lakh (ex-showroom).

It is powered by a 1.5 liter Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine with factory fitted CNG kit. In CNG mode, the engine delivers 87.83 bhp at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 121.5 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
