New Delhi: Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its first electric scooter under its new sub-brand Vida in the country tomorrow. The debut of this e-scooter was originally planned for a July 2022 launch; however, it was delayed several times.
The company has confirmed that the Vida electric scooter will come with replaceable battery technology. Hero MotoCorp has a strategic partnership with Taiwan-based battery exchange infrastructure provider – Gogoro.
Both brands plan to jointly develop electric scooters for India as well as global markets. Hero MotoCorp will be responsible for the design and development of the electric two-wheelers, while Gogoro will handle the battery swapping technology.

Hero MotoCorp and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) have joined hands to create charging infrastructure for upcoming electric vehicles in the country. The partnership will install DC and AC charging stations in Delhi, Bengaluru and 7 other cities.
The official teaser reveals that the silhouette of the new Hero electric scooter looks different from the existing Hero scooters. The electric scooters share a similarity with the Gogoro e-scooter.

It is expected to cost less than 1 lakh rupees and will undercut most of its competitors. It is likely to come with an LED headlight at the front, a USB charging port, a synchronized braking system, a fixed footpeg, smart sensors and a color LCD negative display with backlight.
The new Hero Vida electric scooter is likely to share the powertrain with the Gogoro Viva e-scooter, which has an electric motor producing 3kW and 115Nm of torque. This e-scooter offers a range of 85 km. This electric scooter will compete with TVS iQube electric and Bajaj Chetak models.
