New Delhi: E20 petrol-powered vehicles are now being launched in the Indian market. This includes two-wheelers to four-wheelers. This is a format of petrol Which is cheaper than petrol. 20% ethanol is mixed in E20 petrol.

According to information, a plan is underway to double the number of vehicles by 2025. Geo-BP is the first company in the country to bring ethanol mix petrol to the market. E20 petrol has also started being available at select petrol pumps of Jio-BP. In such a situation, your vehicle also supports E20 petrol, then here we are telling all the things related to it. Also, know how much 1-litre costs.

What is E20 fuel?

Ethyl alcohol or ethanol (C2H5OH) is a biofuel produced naturally by fermenting sugars. India has launched the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) program to blend this biofuel with petrol to reduce fossil fuel consumption. E20 indicates a blend of 20% ethanol and 80% gasoline. The number 20 in E20 refers to the proportion of ethanol in the gasoline mixture. That is, the higher the number, the higher the proportion of ethanol in petrol.

Mathematics of 1 litre E20 petrol price

The E20 petrol manufactured by Geo-BP contains 80% petrol and 20% ethanol. The petrol price in Delhi is around Rs.96 per litre. That is, according to 96 rupees, the price of 80% petrol is around 76.80 rupees. Similarly, the price of ethanol is up to Rs 55 per litre. That is, the price of 20% ethanol is Rs.11.

One litre of E20 petrol includes normal petrol of Rs 76.80 and ethanol of Rs 11. In this way, the cost of one litre of E20 petrol becomes Rs 87.80. That means it is Rs 8.20 cheaper than normal petrol.
