Although automatic variants of conventional cars are pricier than manual options, they offer convenience and value for money. With the growing demand for automatic cars, Indian automakers are coming up with AMT versions of their popular vehicles. Here is a list of the best automatic SUVs under 10 lakh in India in 2024:

1. Nissan Magnite – Rs 6.60 lakh

One of the most affordable SUVs in India, the Nissan Magnite is also the cheapest automatic SUV with its prices starting at just Rs 6.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

Like the Renault Kiger, the Magnite has two engine options: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol powerplant. The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine features a 5-speed AMT gearbox starting from the XE variant.

2. Renault Kiger – Rs 7.10 lakh

The Renault Kiger is available with two engine options: a 1.0-litre petrol engine belting out 72bhp and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 100bhp.

The entry-level variants are equipped with the 1.0-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 5-speed AMT. The Renault Kiger automatic SUV has a price tag starting at Rs 7.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

3. Tata Punch – Rs 7.60 lakh

Like its rivals Fronx and Exter, the Tata Punch also features a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, though with one less cylinder. The power unit is capable of churning out 88hp of power and 115Nm of peak torque and is connected to a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT.

The most affordable variant of the Tata Punch is the Adventure AMT with its prices starting from Rs 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

4. Hyundai Exter – Rs 8.23 lakh

The Hyundai Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine generating 83bhp of max power and 114Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, while a 5-speed AMT is offered starting from the S variant.

The prices start at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom).

5. Maruti Suzuki Fronx – Rs 8.88 lakh

The base 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 5-speed AMT. The Delta AMT variant is priced at Rs 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom).

The powerplant belts out 90hp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. It achieves a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.89 kmpl with the AMT transmission.

6. Tata Nexon – Rs 10 lakh

The Tata Nexon is equipped with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine capable of generating 120hp of max power and 170Nm of peak torque. The powermill is connected to a 6-speed AMT gearbox.

Optionally, higher petrol variants with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission are also available. The Smart + AMT variant of the Tata Nexon starts from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
