New Delhi: Recently, Hyundai discontinued its 2.0L engine and launched the Alcazar with a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine as per the new RDE norms, starting at Rs 16.75 lakh, ex-showroom.
At the same time, Kia also launched the 1.5L turbo petrol engine Kia Carens with no noise and similar engine capacity. However, the company discontinued its 1.4 turbo engine due to the new RDE norms. The starting price of the new Carens is Rs. 12 lakhs ex-showroom. The company has introduced the car with the new engine in four premium, prestige, luxury and luxury plus variants.
Engine
The 1.5 turbo engine of the new Kia Carens will be capable of producing 160bhp power and 260NM torque. With this, 6-speed IMT and 7-speed DCT gearboxes have been added. Apart from giving a new engine, no other changes have been made in this MPV car.
At the same time, two more engines have been offered in it, in which the first 1.5 turbo charged diesel engine is capable of giving 115bhp power and 250Nm torque. Along with this, 6-speed IMT and automatic transmission have been given. There is another 1.5L petrol engine, which is capable of producing 115bhp power and 145Nm torque. It is paired with a 6 speed manual gearbox.

Talking about the features, it has 10.25 inch touch-screen system with connected car technology, Apple Car Play and Android system, auto climate control system, keyless entry, cruise control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, rearview camera, digital Features like instrument cluster are present. Apart from this, it also has six airbags, ABS, ESC, hill start, descent control and tire pressure monitoring system features as safety features.
