The potential resurgence of the Ford Endeavor presents an intriguing prospect for SUV enthusiasts, as it could reignite competition in the segment and offer consumers more options. Both the Fortuner and the Endeavor have their unique strengths and appeal to different sets of buyers, adding diversity to the market.

As enthusiasts await further developments, the possibility of having both the Fortuner and the Endeavor back in the Indian market promises to inject excitement and choice into the full-size SUV segment once again.

Endeavor Coming Back to India

After Ford ceased its operations in India, several prominent automakers expressed interest in acquiring Ford’s plant in Chennai. Tata Motors and MG Motor were among the frontrunners, with even Vietnamese electric car company VinFast, poised to enter the Indian market, showing interest in purchasing the facility. However, Ford unexpectedly reversed its decision to sell the Chennai plant at the eleventh hour.

Reports indicate that Ford India is now reassessing its stance on selling the Chennai plant and exploring alternatives such as utilizing the facility for exports or reentering the Indian market. This shift in strategy comes after Ford terminated its agreement with the JSW Group. Speculations suggest that by abandoning plans to sell the plant, Ford aims to keep its options open for future endeavors.

While Ford may have ceased operations in India, its business in neighboring Nepal remains robust. Recently, Ford launched the next generation of its SUV, the Ford Everest, in Nepal, priced at 2,40,00,000 NPR. Interestingly, the Ford Everest is essentially the same model sold as the Ford Endeavor in other markets, including Nepal. There are speculations in the media that Ford might introduce the Everest as the new Endeavor in the Indian market.

What Does New Ford Have?

The next generation Ford Everest boasts significant improvements, developed on an entirely new platform. Its design features a distinctive and muscular appearance, with a prominent bumper and an attractive grille adorned with chrome accents. The SUV exudes an aggressive stance and comes equipped with new 20-inch alloy wheels, complemented by factory-fitted steps to facilitate entry into the tall vehicle and has 10 gears. These enhancements contribute to making the Ford Everest a considerable upgrade over its predecessor, the Ford Endeavor.
