After picking up burgers from the fast food chain, a mother was stunned to discover her daughter’s burger was coated in red.
“What Tiffany Floyd’s 4-year-old daughter thought was ketchup, despite her specific request not to have it on her burger, turned out to be blood.
“All I heard was, ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup,’ so I grabbed her bag, thinking they got our order wrong again. When I looked, her hamburger and the wrapper were covered in blood,” Tiffany Floyd told the New York Post.
“When I checked inside the bag, her toys and everything had blood on them.”
“So I immediately told her to spit out her food.
She had some fries and a small portion of her hamburger.
“Then I checked my meal, and there was blood on it too.”
Floyd promptly called the Burger King in Getzville, New York, and requested to speak with the manager.
According to the mother, Dan, the manager, informed her that “a cook had cut his hand and was bleeding.”
“He apologized and offered a refund if I returned.”
Concerned that her daughter had consumed food potentially contaminated with blood, Floyd contacted her 4-year-old’s pediatrician.

The doctor advised that she would need to wait 30 days before testing her child’s blood to ensure there were no infections. Following the initial test, she would need to schedule follow-ups every few months for a year to monitor for any potential issues.
The manager’s failure to disclose the identity of the employee with the cut hand prompted this entire process.
Company reply to incident
The company responded to the incident, expressing deep concern and stating, “We were deeply upset and concerned upon learning of this incident. We have reached out to the customer and are actively working with her to address this matter.”
