In Ghana, a man has declared himself the modern-day Noah. Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Noah, he has built a large boat, claiming that a massive flood with heavy rains will hit on December 25. According to him, taking shelter in this boat is the only way to survive. Thousands of people, believing his prophecy, have reportedly gone to seek refuge on his boats. Videos on social media show people booking their spots in advance.
Claims of flood starting on December 25
The man, named Eboh Noah, has been trending on social media for some time. Videos show him warning about the flood that he predicts will occur on Christmas Day and creating an ark to save people from the impending disaster. Eboh claims that God warned him that the world would face destruction on December 25 with heavy rainfall and floods. Following this divine warning, he says he was commanded to build boats.
Fleet of boats prepared to survive the flood
Eboh claims to have built ten boats so far. According to him, continuous rain will last for three years starting December 25. He says the boats are meant to keep himself and his followers safe during this period.
Viral videos of boat construction
Eboh, who also calls himself Ebo Jesus, is 30 years old. He first gained attention in August after releasing a YouTube video titled “What Will Happen and How Will It Happen?” In the video, he explained that he planned to stay on one boat for the full three years. Since then, multiple videos of him and his assistants hammering together boats have gone viral. However, the boats appear much smaller than what would be needed to survive the catastrophic flood he predicts. He has also posted footage of several other boats under construction.
The Story of Noah
In the Bible, Noah was commanded by God to build a huge ark. He saved his family and pairs of all living animals on Earth. According to the story, the flood lasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Eboh Noah claims to follow this same biblical narrative, adapting it to modern times with his own version of the ark.
