They awaited a day adorned with roses and perfume, sweetened by cake and sealed with a ring- a moment they had long dreamed of, counting down to its arrival with hearts full of hope. The young couple, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were among those gunned down by 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago. According to Washington, D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith, Rodriguez opened fire on a group of four people, killing two. While being detained, he allegedly chanted, “Free, free Palestine.”
Yaron Lischinsky And Sarah Milgrim
Yaron and Sarah were colleagues at the Israeli embassy in Washington. They had visited the Capital Jewish Museum during a peaceful evening when everything seemed calm and normal. According to Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter, the couple were about to get engaged next week. Yaron’s father said that he had bought a ring to propose to Sarah next week. “The couple that was gunned down tonight in the name of ‘Free Palestine’ was a young couple about to be engaged,” he said in a statement. “A young man purchased a ring this week with the intention of proposing to his girlfriend next week in Jerusalem. They were a beautiful couple.”

What Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu Said
“We are witnessing the terrible price of antisemitism and the wild incitement against the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said. “The blood libels against Israel are costing us blood and must be fought relentlessly.”
“My heart aches for the families of the beloved young man and woman, whose lives were cut short by a heinous anti-Semitic murderer,” he said in a statement. “I have ordered security arrangements to be boosted in Israeli diplomatic missions around the world and around representatives of the state,” he added.
