Israel Military has declared that it has killed Hezbollah’s drone commander, Mohammed Srur in its recent attack on Beirut.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has released the video of the attack on X. “Today, September 26, 2024, under the precise intelligence direction of the Air Force and the Intelligence Division, fighter jets attacked in Beirut and killed Muhammad Hossein Sarur, the commander of the air unit of the terrorist organization Hezbollah”, wrote IDF.

As per the reports, it was the fourth attack in a week that targeted Hezbollah commanders.
Srur was in a 10-storey residential building in Beirut when the attack took place. This place is considered as stronghold of Hezbollah commanders. Three continuous missiles were launched at this building.
After the attack, Hezbollah also confirmed that its drone commander was targeted by the Israeli forces. According to the sources, the target was specifically aimed at Mohammed Srur also known as Abu Saleh. A Hezbollah official said, “The Israeli strike focused on Mohammed Srur, the commander of the group’s drone unit, also referred to as Abu Saleh. His status remains uncertain.”
Who Was Mohammed Srur?
Mohammed Srur was born in 1973, he was the chief of Hezbollah’s drone unit. He had overseen many airstrike operations that were launched in parts of Israel. He was one of the oldest members of the Hezbollah group. Srur was a student of mathematics and served as top advisors. According to the reports, Srur had joined Hezbollah in 1980s. He was kept at many top and important positions in the organization.
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has escalated in last few weeks.
