Cindy Rodriguez Singh of Texas has been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) because she is wanted on state charges of killing her six-year-old son, FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Thursday. Cindy was last known to fly to India with her husband and six children, March 2023, after the authorities began searching for her child because she allegedly gave false statements to authorities about him being taken.
According to Fox News, Singh fled the United States to avoid prosecution after being implicated in her son’s death. After an Interpol Red Notice for Rodriguez Singh was issued for distribution to all member countries, including India on October 3, 2024, an extradition packet was prepared and submitted to India, leading to Rodriguez Singh’s arrest.
As Patel notes, the FBI worked with the Indian authorities and Interpol to apprehend Singh, and she has now been brought to the United States and will be handled by Texas authorities to process her charge.
Kash Patel Celebrates Indian Officials
On X, Kash Patel wrote: “Thanks to our local partners in Texas, where this case originated, US Department of Justice, as well as partners in India for the coordinating. FBI Dallas and FBI New York did tremendous work.”
The FBI Director told Fox News, “The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list exists for cases just like this — where a dangerous fugitive thought she could run, hide overseas, and escape justice.” He added, “Justice has no borders, and today the American people can see that we will never stop pursuing those who prey on the most innocent among us.”

Welfare Check Brings Forward Allegations
This case came to light on March 20, 2023, when a welfare check was requested by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and conducted by the Everman, Texas, Police Department on Singh’s son.
The child had not been seen since October of 2022, and officials stated the child had multiple health and developmental concerns, including a serious developmental disorder, social disorder, chronic lung disease, pulmonary edema, bone density, and esotropia.
When the investigators went to check on the welfare of the child, investigators alleged that Singh misled the officials stating that her son was in Mexico with his biological father since November of 2022.
Two days later, on March 22, 2023, Singh, her husband, and six other children boarded an international flight to India. Investigators would later verify that the missing child was not on the flight which would directly contradict Singh’s claims.
In July, Singh was added to the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list. She is the fourth person caught from the list during Director Patel’s time as Director.
