On Saturday night, Iran unleashed a barrage of explosive drones and missiles aimed directly at Israeli territory, citing retaliation for the bombing of its embassy in Damascus earlier this month. This event signifies Iran's inaugural direct assault on Israel since conflict erupted in the region last October.
Several videos were shared online video showcasing its renowned Iron Dome system intercepting numerous Iranian drones and missiles within Israeli airspace. According to reports, a 7-year-old girl sustained critical injuries during the attacks.
Israel's military spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed that Iran had initiated numerous ground-to-ground missiles, including cruise missiles, with the majority intercepted outside Israeli borders. The onslaught, consisting of over 200 drones and missiles, inflicted minor damage to an Israeli military installation. However, Hagari stated that the Israeli defense system successfully intercepted most of the 200 drones and missiles launched by Iran, with the majority neutralized before penetrating Israeli airspace.
