Nepal has been witnessing political unrest since last Wednesday. The Gen Z protests were triggered by a social media ban, which was lifted by the Nepal Government late Tuesday night after violent clashes. However, just hours later, the demonstrators renewed their protest in Kathmandu.
A series of political twists unfolded on Monday, September 8, 2025, adding to the mounting chaos. Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned following the ongoing massive protest that left 19 dead and more than 300 injured. Reports indicate that Oli has left Kathmandu in a military helicopter. It remains unclear where he has gone.
