US: Seeking Custody Of Her Son, Indian-Origin Woman Kills Him During Vacation At Disneyland

The SantaAna Police said, "Homicide detectives are working to identify and locate additional witnesses who may have information about this incident."

An Indian-origin woman allegedly killed her son during a 3-day vacation to Disneyland in the United States. The 48-year-old woman slits her 11-year-old son’s throat.

Saritha Ramaraju has been also charged with a felony for having the personal use of a weapon, knife. She killed her son during a custody visit. 

According to police, they received a call from Saritha who reported that she had stabbed and killed her son in a room at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Santa Ana. The police rushed to the spot and detained her. She has been booked into the Santa Ana Jail on charges of Penal Code § 187(a)–Murder, PC 273(a)–Child Endangerment, PC 206–Torture, and PC 205–Aggravated Mayhem.

The woman was fighting over her son’s custody with her husband Prakash Raju. She was miffed with her husband as he did not consult her in son’s school and medical decisions. The accused woman was living in Fairfax, Virginia and wanted her son to live with her. 

The Office of the District Attorney, Orange County, California said in a statement the accused will serve 26 years of sentence if convicted on all charges.
