“$3,000 TO LEAVE NOW. In addition to a free flight home, illegal aliens can sign up to self-deport through the CBP Home app by the end of the year to receive a $3,000 stipend once they return. If you do not self-deport, we will find you, we will arrest you, and you will never be able to return to the United States,” said DHS in a post on X.

DHS raises incentives along with free flight home

The Trump administration has increased the self-deportation stipend for illegal immigrants, tripling the amount from $1,000 to $3,000 for those who leave the US voluntarily by the end of the year. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that eligible immigrants will also receive a free flight back to their home country.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that since January 2025, 1.9 million illegal immigrants have voluntarily self-deported, with tens of thousands using the CBP Home program. She emphasized that the increased incentive, available only until year-end, is a “generous offer” to leave voluntarily.

Trump launched financial and travel assisstance

Noem added that those who do not self-deport risk arrest, warning, “Illegal aliens should take advantage of this gift and self-deport because if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return.”

Earlier in May, the Trump administration had launched financial and travel assistance for illegal immigrants using the CBP Home App, paying USD 1,000 after confirmation of return. DHS called self-deportation a “dignified way to leave the US” and a method to avoid encounters with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Cracking down on illegal immigration has been a top priority for President Trump since taking office.
