New Delhi: The US government has recovered more than 300 classified documents from former President Donald Trump’s Florida resort, including material from the CIA, National Security Agency, and FBI, according to the New York Times, citing various persons briefed on the subject.

The US National Archives reportedly discovered a first batch of more than 150 classified documents in January, according to the publication. A second group was provided by Trump’s aides to the Justice Department in June, and a third batch was reportedly obtained by the FBI earlier this month during a raid.

The Justice Department did not reply immediately to a request for comment. The former president’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Trump requested on Monday that the FBI be temporarily barred from studying the records it took on August 8 from his Mar-a-Lago residence until a special master could be appointed to supervise the investigation.

The search is a component of a federal inquiry into whether Trump improperly erased records after losing the presidential election to Democrat Joe Biden in January 2021.

At Mar-a-Lago, the FBI discovered 11 sets of classified documents, some of which were marked “top secret”—the highest classification level reserved for the most sensitive U.S. national security data, which can only be read in designated government facilities.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
